Garrison Town Guard Armor
itemIntimidating full armor set including a polished metal breastplate, fitted cap, and long black cloak stained with ash. Designed to project presence during urban patrols in Luthadel. Functional rather than decorative.
The Garrison Town Guard Armor first appears in The Final Empire as the standard-issue uniform of Luthadel's city watch, its ash-stained black cloaks and polished breastplates serving as both practical protection and symbols of imperial authority. Across the series, the armor transforms from a tool of oppression into a contested emblem of power: after the Collapse, surviving sets are scavenged by rebels and former guards alike, while new iterations are forged by Elend's administration to outfit the reformed constabulary. By the later books, the armor's design is subtly altered to reflect the shift from noble tyranny to civic order, its ash-resistant fabric and reinforced plates now bearing the insignia of a free Luthadel rather than the Steel Ministry.
