Steel Inquisitor Spikes begin as the signature hemalurgic implants that transform captured Allomancers into the terrifying, faceless servants of the Lord Ruler. Across the series, their purpose expands from simple control devices into the very mechanism that allows Ruin to possess and manipulate Inquisitors, culminating in their role as the conduit through which the dark god nearly destroys the world. By the end of the trilogy, the spikes are revealed to be both the source of an Inquisitor’s immense power and the fatal weakness that enables their downfall.
