Taniel, Ka-poel, Julene, and Gothen confront Rozalia (a Predeii) at the university. A cataclysmic sorcery duel destroys buildings and the bell tower. Rozalia reveals herself and warns of Julene before escaping.

Gothen is killed; the university is devastated. Taniel learns critical information about the Predeii and the plot to summon Kresimir.
