Ugly Dan

Minor

There's a predatory glint in his ash-gray eyes, cold as ice cubes under greasy strands of weedy hair, watching like he's sizing up prey in the dim corridors. His voice carries a tinny edge, sharp and unyielding, making the air feel heavier. You sense the cruelty etched into his stark features, a man who thrives on control.

Physical Description

Ugly Dan is a middle-aged Gray with darkened sun-exposed skin stretched over cruel, stark features, his ash-gray eyes cold and icy like frozen cubes beneath greasy, thin, weedy gray hair. Lean and weedy in build, he sports an old replacement prosthetic arm that looks battered and functional. He wears tired, shoddy, stained duroArmor marked with Gray sigils on his hands and wrists, paired with gravBoots, exuding a harsh, predatory presence. Ugly Dan's face is a ravaged landscape, deeply pockmarked from old acne scars that pit his sallow skin like moon craters. A wide bald pate crowns his head, fringed thinly with withered gray hair that clings in straggly wisps. His small, shrewd eyes peer from sunken sockets in a gaunt, asymmetrical face, often curled into a sneering grimace revealing uneven teeth. Lean and slightly stooped at around thirty, he dresses in simple, grimy laborer's clothes—a faded tunic and trousers patched from hard use. His presence carries a weaselly menace, fingers twitching as if eager for a petty cruelty.

Evolution

Red Rising

Ugly Dan starts as a greasy Gray captain enforcing the brutal order of the Institute with his coterie of tinpot thugs, his old prosthetic arm dragging lowborn like Darrow into the grinder. He embodies the petty antagonism of the Color hierarchy, leaning on thumpers and shoddy armor to assert dominance amid the chaos. Though minor, his stark cruelty leaves a mark on the early trials, shifting subtly as the games unfold, but always marked by that weedy malice.
