Pliny
SupportingPliny is a slender, sinewy man with rosy pink skin unmarked by scars. Long fluffy eyelashes shade cunning eyes above a prominent long nose and hawk-like features. Thin lips are painted pale or black, and his hair is arranged in perfumed ringlets or a tight intricate braid. He wears a tight silk tunic embroidered with elaborate patterns, carrying himself with vain, theatrical poise.
Pliny first appears in Golden Son as a scheming, effete Gold politician whose theatrical vanity masks a ruthless ambition. He quickly becomes one of Darrow’s most dangerous internal enemies, orchestrating a coup against House Augustus and betraying Darrow to the Sovereign. His arc is cut short when his treachery is exposed, but his actions reverberate through the Rising, forcing Darrow to confront the rot within the Golds he seeks to dismantle.
