Vanguard

Vanguard emerges as a shadowy, quasi-mythic force in the Red Rising saga, first hinted at in the aftermath of Darrow’s triumph on Luna. Across the series it evolves from a whispered rumor among the rising Sons of Ares into a tangible, multi-planet network of defected Grays, exiled Obsidians, and sympathetic lowColors who operate beyond the reach of both the Society and the Republic. Its evolution mirrors the larger war: what begins as scattered cells of sabotage becomes a disciplined auxiliary fleet capable of striking Gold supply lines and, later, of tipping the balance in the Solar War’s final campaigns.
