A fictitious organization created as a ruse to distract red-headed men like Jabez Wilson while criminals tunnel into a nearby bank. It offered high pay for copying the Encyclopædia Britannica but abruptly dissolved after eight weeks. The scheme was masterminded by John Clay to facilitate a gold bullion robbery.
