Harlond
Harlond is a functional harbor situated at the bend of the Anduin river. The river layout allows men in the City to look down its length for leagues and spot approaching ships. Ships turn toward the harbor and dock at its quays, from which men can leap ashore.
Harlond, a vital harbor at the great bend of the Anduin River opposite Minas Tirith, serves as the crucial docking point for the ships of the Dead Men of Dunharrow in The Return of the King. Positioned where defenders in the White City can survey approaching vessels for leagues, it enables the swift disembarkation of Aragorn's eerie host onto its quays. Though appearing only in the series' final volume, Harlond plays a pivotal role in the liberation of Gondor, marking the fulfillment of the Dead's oath and bolstering the forces against Sauron's onslaught.
