Hornburg appears in The Lord of the Rings.

The Hornburg, the formidable defensive stronghold of the Horned Men of old guarding the Deeping-coomb in Rohan's Westfold, emerges as a pivotal fortress in The Two Towers, enduring the ferocious Siege of the Hornburg during the War of the Ring. Though its walls are battered and gate shattered in the ensuing battle, it stands resilient amid Saruman's orcish onslaught. By The Return of the King, the Hornburg is depicted as a grim, battle-scarred ruin, its twilit halls and wondrous caves overshadowed by the somber mound of the Death Down, symbolizing the heavy toll of victory in the quiet aftermath.
