The Paths of the Dead, a secret and haunted passage beneath the Dwimorberg mountain in the Ered Nimrais, emerge as a pivotal and terrifying location in the climactic stages of The Lord of the Rings. Accessed through the eerie Dark Door in the Dimholt, these forsaken paths are eternally guarded by the spectral Dead Men of Dunharrow, oathbreakers cursed to wander until absolved. Aragorn boldly traverses them in a daring gambit, summoning the ghostly host to fulfill their ancient pledge and turn the tide against Sauron's forces at Pelargir.
