Mûmakil
creatureEnormous elephantine war-beasts of Harad, huge backs bearing war-towers, thick hides, goaded to bellow in battle.
The Mûmakil, colossal elephantine war-beasts harnessed by the Haradrim of the South, emerge as a terrifying force in the War of the Ring, their immense size and thick hides making them nearly impervious to arrows and spears. Towering war-towers atop their backs unleash volleys of arrows upon the armies of Gondor and Rohan, turning the Pelennor Fields into a chaotic battlefield of bellowing giants. Though fearsome, they prove vulnerable to desperate close assaults, marking their dramatic debut and ultimate role in the climactic siege of Minas Tirith.
