Ambush at Arch-Diocel's Villa
Tamas's attempt to arrest the traitor Arch-Diocel Charlemund at his villa turns into a deadly ambush by Wardens, air-rifle guards, and Duke Nikslaus. Sabon is killed; heavy casualties ensue. Tamas enters a powder trance to slaughter the attackers.
Outcome
Charlemund is mortally wounded. Nikslaus escapes. Adamat's coerced betrayal is forgiven. The traitor is exposed but at great personal cost to Tamas.
