Seraphina au Raa first appears in Morning Star as an untamed 8-year-old Rim child whose innocent vitality foreshadows her clan's fierce independence. By Iron Gold she has matured into a laconic, powerfully built young woman whose feral beauty and hidden scars mark her as a burning heir of the Raa line, sparking mutual romantic tension with Lysander au Lune amid deepening political rifts. Her story reaches a brutal end in Dark Age when, fighting as a loyal starShell pilot, she is slain by a rail slug and becomes a martyr whose death fuels Rim resistance against Darrow's forces.
Physical Description
Pale-faced with short-cropped messy hair, 8-year-old Seraphina has large eyes a third bigger than normal, giving her an intense, otherworldly gaze. Her tender long bones suggest a wild colt's frame, slender and energetic. She wears dirt-stained pants with knees marked from play, gripping a small shovel, her presence feral and unbound. A tall athletic woman of barely twenty with pale skin and short golden hair buzzed close and notched on the right side to reveal her proud neck stands with laconic power. Her face holds full lips often set unsmiling, a slightly hooked nose, and large dull gold eyes that appear sleepy yet flash with lonely fire or incandescent passion beneath thick eyelashes, giving her a distinctly feral and wild aura unlike the polished Aureates of Luna. Subtle curves and powerfully muscled legs show beneath her loose tunic and gray wool cloak fastened by a charcoal sash, practical rubber-soled slippers on her feet and the hidden scar from the brutal Io Institute completing the portrait of a burning one who walks with a storm in her veins. Seraphina au Raa is lean and shabby, her wiry frame honed by Rim hardships, with long dark hair often tangled from desert winds. A distinctive notched eyebrow marks her sharp, angular face, while her Rim eyes are chromed out, gleaming like steel in the harsh light.
