Shagrat

Minor

A hulking shadow of malice, his tusked sneer cuts through the dim light like a blade. There's a raw, predatory cunning in his scarred gaze that makes the air feel thicker, heavier. You can almost smell the foul reek of his presence before he even speaks.

Shagrat, the brutish orc captain of Cirith Ungol, first appears in The Two Towers as a savage enforcer whose command devolves into treacherous infighting with rival Gorbag over the captured Frodo's precious mithril shirt, exposing the chaotic greed undermining Sauron's legions. His physical menace is vividly detailed in The Return of the King, portraying him as a crouching beast with long arms dragging the ground and a snarling, fang-protruding face. Though his arc peaks in betrayal and survival amid the tower's ruins, Shagrat ultimately flees with the shirt, embodying the orcs' self-destructive disloyalty as the War of the Ring concludes.

Physical Description

Shagrat cuts a black squat figure, broad and powerfully built with coarse dark skin stretched over bulging muscles. His face is a map of scars, dominated by a wide tusked mouth that twists into perpetual snarls, under hooded yellow eyes that burn with malice. He wears ragged black armor pieced with leather and iron studs, heavy boots caked in filth. His presence radiates squat menace, a squat muscular brute built for brawling in the depths. A large orc with long arms that, as he ran crouching, reached to the ground. He has an evil face with protruding fangs; the mouth snarled like an animal.
