Treebeard

creature

Fourteen-foot-tall man-like tree-creature with sturdy build, minimal neck, bark-like green-grey skin or hide on body, smooth brown skin on arms, seven-toed feet, sweeping grey twiggy-mossy beard, deep brown eyes with green light like ancient wells.

Treebeard, the ancient Ent and shepherd of the trees, emerges in The Two Towers as a towering, deliberate guardian of Fangorn Forest, embodying the slow-burning wrath of nature against industrialization. Initially isolationist and unaware of the world's upheavals, he is roused by Merry and Pippin to convene the Entmoot, leading to the pivotal Ents' march on Isengard that shatters Saruman's power. Though his role diminishes thereafter, Treebeard's awakening symbolizes the vital alliance of Middle-earth's oldest forces in the fight against Sauron, with his lingering vigilance over the forest underscoring the enduring resilience of the natural world.
