Malov is a tall, broad, stooped middle-aged man who resembles a wrestler. His baldish appearance and yellowish complexion mark him as someone who has aged under pressure. He wears a jacket suit and carries himself with the decisiveness of a former platoon commander, though time has made him thinner and more tired.
