The Expanse

The Expanse is set in a colonized solar system where Earth, Mars, and the asteroid-belt colonies compete for resources and political power. The story follows Jim Holden, an officer on an ice-hauling ship, whose routine voyage is interrupted when his crew responds to a distress signal from a derelict vessel. As tensions between the inner planets and the Belt escalate, Holden and a handful of others become entangled in a growing crisis that threatens the fragile balance of the system.
