Krivokhostov seems more at home behind a screen than among people: pale, withdrawn, and wrapped in a fur coat that makes him look almost armored against the outside world. Beneath that awkwardness is the unsettling impression of a mind that moves quickly and sees more than it lets on.

Alexey Krivokhostov is a gifted programmer and hacker who rarely leaves his computer and is unaccustomed to face-to-face company. When Olga needs a warning carried beyond the screen, he ventures out in a T-shirt, trousers, and fur coat, an uneasy figure suddenly forced into the physical world. His unexpected, videogame-like fighting style reveals that the reclusive computer expert is not quite as helpless outside as he first seems.
Description
Krivokhostov is a pale, reclusive man, though the text gives no exact age, height, or build. His face, hair, and eyes are not described in detail; his defining visual impression is someone unused to ordinary social contact. He wears a simple T-shirt and trousers beneath a heavy fur coat, an incongruous outfit that makes him seem bundled against the world. His guarded, awkward presence contrasts with the sharpness implied by his work at a computer.
