Arana-san is an elderly Japanese manager whose company builds stone gardens, and whose gracious manner shapes the atmosphere around him. He receives poems and gifts with polite warmth, speaking Russian with a distinctive difficulty pronouncing the letter “л.” His attachment to the work is vivid and hands-on, and his courageous impulsiveness can break through his formal composure when a treasured stone is at risk.
Description
Arana-san is an elderly Japanese man with a composed manner, often seen with half-closed eyes and a courteous smile. He habitually rubs the bridge of his nose, a small gesture that lends his formal bearing a touch of familiarity. His accent and difficulty pronouncing the Russian letter “л” are distinctive, though his hair, complexion, build, and clothing are not specified. He gives an impression of cultivated politeness and quiet attentiveness.
