There is an easy, knowing curve to his smile, the sort that suggests he understands more than he says. Over a beer and a tossed coin, he feels like a familiar acquaintance who has learned to speak of luck as though it always sends a bill.

This businessman is an acquaintance of Dimka’s who, like him, has the knack of attracting luck and calls its eventual cost a “ricochet.” Their conversation over beer and a coin toss is marked by his understanding smile. He later disappears without a trace, leaving behind the curious impression of someone who knew the price of good fortune.
Description
He is a mature man identified as a businessman, but the text gives no precise details of his height, build, coloring, hair, eyes, or dress. His most distinctive described feature is an understanding smile, worn during a relaxed conversation over beer. His manner seems familiar and knowing rather than formal.
