Gerdayo Ferlock is a tiny Lilliputian whose ingenuity and skill as a stonemason make him memorable despite his brief appearance. During a dental operation, he works with his face wrapped in damp cloth and an oil lamp close at hand. He is defined less by his size than by the quiet competence with which he applies himself to an unusual task.
Description
Gerdayo is a very small, Lilliputian man, his miniature stature the first thing noticed beside ordinary-sized tools and people. He has a youthful, clever air and an alert, practical expression. His clothes are workmanlike, suited to a stonemason’s labor; in his distinctive working appearance, a damp cloth covers his face and he carries an oil lamp. His nimble, concentrated bearing makes him seem capable well beyond his tiny scale.
