Bennet’s title suggests a life abruptly recast in military terms, though the person beneath it remains largely out of view. The mention of a designer turned river-garrison captain gives him the air of someone caught between a former craft and a harsher calling.

Once a designer, Bennet became one of eight captains serving in a seventy-person river garrison. His brief account is one of interrogation and execution by a patrol, leaving little space for his earlier life or relationships to emerge.

The text identifies Bennet as a male former designer who served as a captain in a river garrison, but gives no concrete physical details. His height, build, age, skin tone, hair, eyes, facial features, and clothing are not specified.
