Kirill is remembered as a small boy of six, his youth giving his presence an immediate tenderness. There is something poignant in the thought of a child's awareness waiting in darkness, though his imagined face remains your own to picture.

Kirill was six when an automobile accident left his consciousness preserved within the mind of his mother, Veronika. For a time, he exists without a body, confined to the darkness of her thoughts as she waits for a cloned body to be prepared. His story is defined by the fragile boundary between mother and child, presence and absence, and the hope of returning to embodied life.
Description
Kirill is a six-year-old boy, though the text supplies no specific details of his appearance. His hair, eyes, skin tone, build, and clothing are all left undescribed, so none can be fixed as visual facts. He should read as a young child, with age conveyed through a small, youthful presence rather than invented features. No physical distinguishing marks or accessories are established.
