A delicate epithelial nanobot of the Nanessa lineage, Nanochka is distinguished by her graceful grapples and the free radical at her underside. Her composition carries an unlikely blend of copper, iron, sunflower, roundworm, and flounder. In an alcoholic environment her organelles shrivel and dull, and her grapples curl; the free radical is eventually blocked by a polyphenol. The episode makes her precarious little existence feel vivid and unexpectedly personal.
Description
Nanochka is microscopic and exquisitely delicate, an epithelial nanobot built from minute copper and iron fragments, with traces of sunflower, roundworm, and flounder in her composition. Her form is finely articulated, marked by elegant, unusually shaped nano-grapples that give her a nimble, ornamental silhouette. A small free radical distinguishes the underside of her body. Her overall impression is one of intricate, almost fragile grace.
