Nina Vasilyevna is an older checkpoint attendant at the MUR’s homicide department, known for her warm attitude toward Artyom and her Buddhist faith. At her post, she keeps a wooden pass stand fitted with a thin bayonet from a three-line rifle. Her gentle manner makes her a humane, quietly memorable presence amid the institution’s daily routine.
