Ron is introduced as a fourteen-year-old boy with a delicate, youthful face and the skill of a school swimming champion. The bronze badge celebrating that achievement becomes the stark trace by which he is remembered after the destruction of his home. Later, his voice appears over Mike's radio, relaying coordinates in the grim machinery of a military strike.
Description
Ron is a fourteen-year-old boy with a delicate, gentle face that retains a distinctly childlike softness. His swimmer's training suggests an athletic, fit build, though the text gives no height, complexion, hair, eye color, or clothing details. A dark bronze badge engraved “To Ron, school swimming champion” is his defining visible accessory. His presence feels youthful and unguarded.
