Steve Blanders looks as if the ship’s hard labor has been carved directly into his body: muscular, sweating, and marked by a split eyebrow. There is a physical immediacy to him, a man whose strength seems earned rather than ornamental.

A spaceship captain whose muscular build was developed through years of manual labor in the hold, Steve Blanders bears the visible mark of a split eyebrow, earned a year before the moment in which he is described. His forehead beads with sweat under strain, making him feel less like a distant figure of authority than a working astronaut pressed into the demands of the moment. The text offers no further account of his history or relationships.
Description
Steve Blanders is a muscular man, his build reflecting years of hard manual work in a spacecraft’s hold. A split eyebrow, scarred a year earlier, gives his face its most distinctive feature. Sweat gathers across his forehead when he is under strain. His clothing, hair, eyes, and coloring are not specified; his overall presence is forceful and work-worn.
