Tolya Yartsev is a seven-year-old boy who lives near Alik. His remarkable surroundings—a modernist house made of plastic balls and a fifty-meter pool—frame him as a child at home in a world of extravagant oddities. Beyond that brief glimpse, he remains an ordinary neighborhood boy, memorable for the curious setting around him.
Description
Tolya is seven, with the small, youthful build and proportions of a child. No particular hair color, eye color, complexion, or facial features are specified, so his appearance remains open rather than sharply individualized. He wears ordinary children’s clothing, and his presence is that of a young neighbor encountered amid an extravagant, modern setting.
