Beautiful Far Away · Character
Валера

Valera has the easy, blunt warmth of a man who works with his hands and speaks his mind. A chipped tooth and a healed mark on one finger give his sturdy presence a lived-in edge, while his eye for beautiful stones suggests a quieter, more surprising side.

A stonemason and Sergey’s partner, Valera spends his days searching for handsome natural stones and brings a practical, irreverent perspective to their conversations. He is open about his fascination with science fiction and Japanese life, even when his enthusiasm earns a skeptical look. His blunt humor sits alongside an unexpectedly playful streak: he can bow, recite a tiny poem, and arrive with a New Year’s gift. A chipped tooth from an old fight and the healed damage to one finger are small, lasting marks of the rougher parts of his life.
Description
Valera is a young Russian man with a sturdy, work-hardened build and the capable hands of a stonemason. His precise height, complexion, hair, eyes, and facial shape are not specified. One tooth is slightly chipped from an old fight, and one finger bears a healed scar where he once cut away a quarter of it. His everyday appearance is practical and unshowy, suited to work with stone and time spent on the road; he carries himself with relaxed directness.
