Also known as Теркин, Василий
- Minor
- First seen · Book 1 · Ch. 107
He carries the feeling of a soldier's fireside tale: resilient, unshowy, and made memorable by the promise that an ordinary person can endure. His name suggests a familiar warmth, with a heroic gleam beneath its plainspoken surface.

Terkin is presented as the legendary Russian soldier-hero whose image has grown into a mythic ideal of the warrior. The text recalls his cultural stature rather than recounting personal adventures or relationships, noting that a military order bears his name. He remains a symbol of enduring soldierly courage, not a character whose individual arc is detailed here.
Description
Terkin is identified as a mythic Russian soldier-hero, but the text gives no concrete description of his face, age, height, build, coloring, or clothing. His appearance should therefore remain open rather than fixed to a particular uniform or set of features. What is clear is his emblematic, quietly heroic presence: an idealized figure of the ordinary soldier.
