Arkie was one of Hawat’s men, and he died on Arrakis, leaving a wife in Arrakeen. The Fremen carried his body away and rendered it down for its water, a stark expression of the demands of their desert world. Beyond this brief account, the text gives no further history of his life.
Description
Arkie is seen only as a dead man rolled in a loose robe, the cloth concealing his face, coloring, and build. Its slack folds leave him as a bundled, indistinct shape rather than a recognizable portrait. No other visual details are provided.
