Dr. Ratchet

There's a timeless grit to him, like forged iron that's seen a thousand repairs without complaint. His bushy beard twitches with unspoken opinions, and those sharp eyes size up the world from behind a workbench fortress. You sense he'd fix a spaceship or chew out a fool with equal relish.

Dr. Ratchet appears briefly as a background panelist at CrawlCon, the older dwarf man tinkering at his workbench amid the convention chaos, his CrawlCon badge marking him as part of the dungeon crawl's vast supporting machinery. In a single chapter, he embodies the unsung technicians keeping the deadly game running, a minor cog in the Syndicate's spectacle who fades into the crowd without fanfare or transformation. His presence underscores the sprawling bureaucracy behind the crawl, a gruff everyman dwarf whose workbench hints at the endless maintenance of horror.
Description
Dr. Ratchet is an older dwarf man with a stout, compact build typical of his kind, broad-shouldered and barely four feet tall, his sturdy frame speaking of enduring strength. His pale skin is weathered and lined, framing a square-jawed face with a squat nose, sharp blue eyes beneath bushy white brows, and a wild mane of white hair tied back haphazardly. A massive bushy white beard, braided with small metal beads, dominates his features, often twitching with his gruff expressions. He wears a grease-stained technician's jumpsuit bulging with tool belts and pockets, a laminated CrawlCon badge clipped prominently to his chest. His callused hands and no-nonsense scowl complete his presence, radiating focused competence amid mechanical clutter.
