Gravy Boat, also known as Ferdinand or Sir Ferdinand, bursts onto the scene in Book 4 as a feral, orange-yellow furred cat embodying the dungeon's savage transformations from pampered pet to predatory survivor amid the menagerie of threats. By Book 5, he evolves into a comically regal figure, donning an enormous poofy gold turban crowned with a four-foot white feather, strutting on hind legs with agile bounds while his intangible-yet-lethal form phases through allies and savages foes.
