Dungeon Crawler Carl · Character
Uptown Hal
- Minor
- First seen · Book 5 · Ch. 32
His pale orange form sways like a living gumstick, those squishing softball eyes locking on with unnerving focus. A thin, flat face conveys dry wit without a word, badge glinting as he flips notes. You can't look away from the alien oddity, equal parts comic and compelling.

Uptown Hal features in chapters 32 and 33 as a supporting panelist, the ridiculously thin flat-faced orange alien with squishing eyes and body badge, first observed closely then reading notes. He contributes to dungeon commentary scenes with his distinctive presence. A minor recurring figure, he punctuates the crawl's bizarre broadcasts.
Description
Ridiculously thin and elongated, this orange-hued alien mimics a human-sized stick of gum, pale orange skin smooth and unmarked save for a pinned badge. A flat face holds wide-set softball-sized eyes that squish and bulge with every expression, dominating his featureless visage. Spindly limbs end in delicate hands clutching notes, body devoid of clothing. He stands with an awkward, swaying poise, exuding eccentric intellect. His gaze pulls you in, hypnotic and otherworldly.
