Water Quadrant
The Water Quadrant is a deep, dark ocean with blue to green-hued waters depending on depth, strong suction currents at the base, and layers of enormous sentinel-like jellyfish floating throughout. The rocky seafloor at 1500m sits at the bottom of the protective bubble and features a submarine trapped in a hole acting as a pump. It is populated by terrifying creatures including a circling mountain-sized sharktopus known as Lusca.
The Water Quadrant is introduced in Book 4 as a vast, pressurized ocean realm that forms one of the four cardinal sectors of the Iron Tangle. Its crushing depths, bioluminescent jellyfish sentinels, and the colossal sharktopus Lusca create a lethal environment that forces crawlers to adapt both gear and tactics. Across subsequent books the quadrant’s bubble boundary becomes a strategic chokepoint, its submarine pump a contested objective, and its currents a vector for rapid transit between levels.
