Its pack-hunting behavior and indiscriminate appetite immediately establish it as one of the most dangerous aquatic threats in the Dungeon, forcing crawlers to adapt their tactics whenever they venture near water. Across later books, the creature’s role expands from simple predator to recurring environmental hazard, its presence shaping both the geography of dungeon floors and the strategies of veteran crawlers who learn to exploit its blood-triggered frenzy.
