Moon Sambhur Stag
creatureDraft horse-sized bone-white stag, straight multi-point antlers, milky white eyes, black hooves and noses, mechanical steam exhales from nostrils.
The Moon Sambhur Stag first appears in Book 5 as a towering, bone-white mechanical cervid whose steam-venting nostrils and milky eyes mark it as a product of the Dungeon’s engineered bestiary. Throughout the series it evolves from a solitary, ominous guardian into a recurring environmental hazard whose presence signals escalating floor-wide threats and the Crawlers’ growing ability to exploit or neutralize such constructs. Its mechanical physiology—antlers that function as both weapons and antennae—becomes a focal point for Carl’s trap-building ingenuity, transforming the stag from an inscrutable monster into a puzzle piece the protagonists learn to dismantle or repurpose.
