Sandcastle Electrical Door
unique_objectJagged rectangular floating island ~300ft wide, corrugated metal structures/weapons, central shingled house, 5 colossal balloons (3 blimp, 2 spherical) with glowing ropes/net/shimmering magical shield, dangling chains/ropes/huts, moored rusting flying machines, red-hatted gnomes.
The Sandcastle Electrical Door first appears in Book 4 as the fortified, floating stronghold of the Sandcastle gnomes, a jagged metal island bristling with weapons and tethered to five colossal, magically-shielded balloons. Throughout the series it evolves from a static, heavily defended dungeon floor landmark into a mobile, politically charged asset whose ownership and allegiance shift with the crawlers’ growing influence. By later books the door becomes both a literal gateway and a symbolic fulcrum in the struggle between the crawlers, the Syndicate, and the increasingly desperate former owners.
