Zipper Shrews debut in Book 8 as one of the many grotesque fauna engineered by the Dungeon's alien overlords. These tiny gray rodents replace their snouts with spinning drill heads, turning them into living tunneling machines that burrow through walls and floors. Their sudden appearance signals the Dungeon's escalating threat level and the increasingly nightmarish creativity of its designers.
