Blade serves loyally as a Buckkeep guard and old soldier, protecting Fitz amid escalating threats. His ribs cracked and eyes blacked from blows taken in Fitz's defense, he evolves from background sentinel to a symbol of steadfast duty. In the trilogy's chaos, Blade's injuries mark the personal cost of loyalty to the true Farseer line.
