Caravan Master Madge first encounters Fitz during his disguised wanderings, a stout leader whose shrewd oversight aids his passage through perilous lands in Assassin's Quest. She provides crucial transport and protection amid his quest, her pragmatic command bridging the gap between settled folk and outcasts. Though her role bookends his journey sparingly, Madge's earthy resilience leaves a mark as one of the few who sees through to the man beneath the beggar's guise.
