Mellow the minstrel drifts through Buckkeep as background performer, his music adding fleeting color to public scenes in Assassin's Apprentice. Unfolding no deeper arc, he embodies the traveling entertainers who punctuate the court's rigid life. His single note in the trilogy evokes the realm's cultural undercurrents.
