The Hungarian Horntail is the enormous dragon nearest Harry, a black, spike-covered beast whose ferocity makes it one of the most daunting sights in the tournament. Crouched over her clutch of eggs, she guards them with yellow-eyed vigilance and a tail that carves deep gouges through the ground. When Harry approaches the golden egg, she rears up and spreads her great leathery wings, forcing him to face the danger of her protective rage.

Description

The Hungarian Horntail is a gigantic, roughly fifty-foot-high, lizard-like dragon, its body covered in black scales and spikes. Evil yellow eyes with vertical, catlike pupils give its face a predatory glare, while long bronze-colored spikes run along its thrashing tail. Its great black leathery wings can spread wide from a low, crouched stance, and its fire-breathing presence is matched by a horrible, yowling screech.
