The Nifflers appear as creatures used in a lesson, introduced burrowing in and out of the earth. Their fluffy, cuddly looks make a striking contrast with their long snouts and shovel-like paws, but they have no further personal arc in the story.

Description

A Niffler is small and covered in fluffy black fur, with a long snout that points eagerly toward the ground. Its front paws are flat and shaped like spades, well suited to digging. Despite its busy, burrowing posture, the creature has a soft, cuddly appearance.
