Destruction is introduced in Book 10 as a ruthless god whose sole ambition is to transform the messenger tree into an apocalypse beast capable of devouring all life. In Book 11, the deity’s presence is felt more subtly, its influence lingering as a shadowy force whose true nature and appearance are only hinted at. Across the two books, Destruction shifts from an overt, temple-defending antagonist to a more enigmatic manipulator whose schemes continue to ripple through the mortal world.
