He Who Fights with Monsters · Character
Nik Asano

- First seen · Book 11 · Ch. 20
There is something disarmingly formal about this small rabbit in a tuxedo and top hat, especially when his nervous fingers keep worrying the brim. He seems overwhelmed by the world around him, yet there is a tender sincerity in the way he tries to make sense of it.

This child-sized rabbit construct first appears anxious and uncertain, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat as he navigates unfamiliar surroundings. Jason gives him the name Nik, and he gains the ability to speak without his profanity being bleeped. His emotional outbursts and moments of self-questioning make the formally dressed little rabbit feel less like an oddity and more like someone struggling to find his own voice.
Description
Nik Asano is a small, child-sized anthropomorphic rabbit, with rabbit features and a slight, compact frame. His fur, eye color, and exact facial features are not specified. He is most often distinguished by a formal tuxedo and a top hat, whose brim he nervously turns in his hands. His posture is tentative and fidgety, lending a vulnerable, earnest quality to his carefully dressed appearance.
