The Fortress is an ancient stone stronghold predating the city walls, originally built to weather monster surges and later repurposed as a multi-level arena complex in the warehouse district. Across the series, it transitions from a simple fighting venue in Book 1 to a site of major narrative significance by Book 11, though its specific role in later books remains sparsely documented. Its enduring architecture and central location make it a constant backdrop for both combat spectacles and pivotal confrontations.
