Across the He Who Fights with Monsters series, Yaresh transforms from an implied, intact city into a shattered urban battlefield whose ruins conceal dangerous power struggles. This evolution underscores the series’ theme of escalating stakes, as once-thriving locales become sites of both devastation and desperate ambition.
