Ganice begins as a mere footnote in the Catenan cartography of The Will of the Many, a distant, scarcely-charted territory whose name surfaces only in the margins of official surveys. Over the course of the series it transforms from an obscure colonial outpost into a crucible of rebellion and shifting allegiances, its rugged terrain and hidden ruins repeatedly exploited by both imperial forces and insurgent factions. By the later volumes, Ganice is no longer a passive backdrop but an active participant in the Hierarchy’s unraveling, its fate intertwined with the protagonists’ struggle to dismantle the very system that once claimed it.
