The Dual Towers begin as little more than a whispered rumor in The Will of the Many, an enigmatic pair of spires said to mark the boundary between the Hierarchy’s mortal realm and the divine. Over the course of the series they evolve from distant myth into the literal fulcrum of rebellion, their dormant mechanisms awakening as the protagonists unlock the towers’ true purpose: to siphon and redistribute the Will itself. By the later books the towers are no longer passive relics but active battlegrounds where the fate of gods and mortals alike is decided, their once-impenetrable wards now fractured by sacrifice, betrayal, and the re-forging of ancient oaths.
